Following the contraction of the single lane boat ramp located at Flat Rock Picnic Ground in Baffle Creek. Post construction feedback and review identified the need to improve the usability and safety of the boat ramp.
The upgrade work completed by MVPH involve constructing an extension to both sides of the boat ramp, consisting of new geotextile, rock armour and a blinding layer of river rock. In addition, 12 marine grade stainless steel anchor points were fabricated and installed on the ramp and altering drainage from existing car park to avoid discharge down boat ramp.
This work fell within the declared Fish Habitat Area and was carried under an approved Operational Works Application, with all conditions set out by State Assessment and Referral Agency (SARA) met.
