Bundaberg Regional Council was seeking suitable Principal Contractor to undertake the demolition of the two existing timber bridges and construction of the replacement culvert structures for Possum Creek Bridge and Middle Creek Bridge on Winfield Road, Winfield.

Both timber bridges were approximately 20m in length, 4.1m wide, identified as a Green and Amber fish passage waterways, which meant accepted development requirements for construction works must be met. These timber bridges were dismantled, savaged and replaced by a two-lane wide, 7 cell 2.7m x 1.8m SLBC (Slab Link Box Culvert) structure and two-lane wide, 6 cell 3.3.m x 2.4m RCBC (Rectangular Concrete Box Culvert) structure.

In addition to the cast in-situ structural concrete and precast concrete works, traffic management consisting of the construction of temporary side tracks, environmental controls, bulk earthworks; disposal of large quantity of unsuitable material, pavement works; line marking, road signage; guardrail and landscaping formed the works under contract.
